Late Fees

For services over 9 hours and a half will enforce a fee of $10 per minute. Any minutes after the 6th hours are considered a full day. All late fees are due before the next day of services provided. No exceptions)

An additional day fee of $10.00 will be included in your debt after the due date until the day you fulfill your obligation. No exceptions)

Non- Sufficient Funds and Checks and Collection Policy

We will enforce a $30.00 NSF fee on all return checks and additional $10 late fee for each additional day from original date you issue us your check until the day you fulfill your obligation. After two NSF checks we will only accept cash, zelle, money order, or cashier’s checks. No exceptions)

All outstanding debts after 30 days will be submitted to our collection’s agency for collections as well as the 3 major credit bureaus agencies. You will also be responsible for all fees incurred to include processing, collection and attorney fees.

Arrival

As you arrive at the center you will need to sign in your child at the front lobby, please walk your child to the front gate were teacher will prompt child to their classroom. DO NOT leave your child in the hallway, bathroom alone unattended.

Naptime

Our nap time schedule is from 12:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m., we ask if you bring your own blanket per child and take them every Friday for wash days and return with child back on following week. 

Release of Children

Each child must be signed out when departing, children will only be released to their parents or those listed on the emergency contact card attached to registration packet. Besides parents, all others will be needing an emailed authorization from parent to our email at sunshineabcpreschool@gmail.com with the persons picture ID present with them for child to be released.

Transportation

We provide transportation to and from school for both districts, however if you fail to notify us of cancelation of pick up at least one hour before release time we will enforce a $10 charge.


Clothing

Children need to wear clothing and shoes that are comfortable and appropriate for active play. All children should have an entire change of clothes in a labeled zip lock bag at our facility in the event of an accident. All jackets, sweaters and backpacks should be labeled with your child’s name. we are not responsible for any lost clothing items. No exceptions)

Personal Property

All toys, movies, jewelry, money, electronics devices, and/or any item of value are not allowed in school. Please keep your child’s belongings at home, we are not held liable or responsibility for any damage or missing personal items. No exceptions)

Absence

We request that all parents inform our preschool in advance if possible if your child will not be attending, unreported absences will count towards your 5-day program. Unreported absences of more than 5 days will be considered an automatic withdrawal and another child may be accepted in their spot.

Medications


We do not administer medications of any kind.

Illness

In the unfortunate event your child is unable to attend due to illness, please call us as soon as possible as to the nature of the illness. If your child becomes ill at school we will notify you immediately to pick her or him up. If your child was sent home due to illness he/she must be symptom free for no less than 24 hours prior to returning. You may be call to pick your child up for any of the following reason:

  1. Fever of 100 degrees or higher (please do not administer fever reducers in the morning prior to dropping off your child, once the medication wears off the fever will rise again and you will need to pick up your child up)

  2. Infections disease

  3. Chicken pox/measles

  4. Rash or skin ailment such as impetigo, ringworm, cold sores, etc.….

  5. Re-occurring diarrhea

  6. Nausea

  7. Pink-Eye

  8. Lice (must be 100% lice free before returning to school)

  9. Excessive coughing or runny nose

  10. Green or Yellow mucus discharge (we reserve the right 

Vacation and Illness Tuition Policy

Clients on our 3-day program will be charge for all 3 days regardless of attendance. Clients in our 5 days program will be charged full tuition if your child attended 3 or more days,3-day tuition if your child was in attendance 2 or fewer days. D.E.S clients are allowed 2 sick days per month. Any additional days will incur the full day tuition rate of $23.00/$26.00 full day and $20.00 half day. (No exceptions)

Termination and Dismissal

The following will be grounds for termination:

  1. Non-payment

  2. Violent behavior towards other children or staff at school or during transportation to and from school.

  3. Hitting: If hitting becomes an issue or results of an injury towards other children or staff at school or during transportation to and from school.

  4. Biting: If the skin is broken you will be called and your child will be dismissed for the day, if biting becomes an issue for the safety of others your services will be terminated.

  5. Failure to cooperate in resolving any discipline matter with your child’s teacher or director.

  6. The director may terminate your services at any time children or staff’s safety is threatened.

  7. We reserve the right to refuse our services to anyone at our own decision.

Your information will only be used to contact you if an event may arise, please ensure you update your information as often possible.

Child Accident& Emergency Procedures

If an accident occurs while your child is at school, you will receive an “ouchie” report with a brief description of what occurred. In case of a serious accident that we feel may need medical attention you will be contacted immediately, if necessary emergency medical technicians will be contacted immediately, if necessary emergency medical technicians will be call to the scene.

Birthdays

Birthdays are a joyous occasion. We will be eager to accommodate our schedule if you desire to bring in a special treat for your child (Arizona Health Department all food items must be store bought) Please let your child’s teacher know in advance in order to plan for the day.

Discipline

Our goal is not to punish, instead to help the children learn to accept responsibility for their actions. We understand that children act out for different reasons, therefore our method of discipline will vary from child to child. Additionally, a child’s developmental level will be taken in consideration as the appropriate measure of discipline. If discipline is required as last method, the child will be separated from the group for a short period of time. This could be a break time chair or location within the classroom where the child will be supervised while he/she takes a few minutes to reflect that their actions did not represent good decision making and unacceptable behavior.

Infants

We provide a loving and caring safe environment with age appropriate toys, and music to help stimulate their growth.



Toddlers

Our curriculum is provided by our teacher to plan activities in a bright and cheery learning enviroment. To encourage toddler’s eager investigation of the world. They stimulate their behavior and growth with fine motorskills. We encourage potty training for those children who are interest in. Potty trained by 3 is required in order to move to preschool.


Preschool

Our curriculum is provided by our teachers who provide our students with an opportunity to learn and help them discover answers through hands on activities which stimulates their curiosity and creativity. Our curriculum offers language development as well with critical thinking and fine motor skills. Children are an encouraged to interact with one another through cooperative learning activities and social skills awareness. Additionally, their activities foster a positive self-image, facilitate their intellectual, social, emotion, and physical development.

School Age

Every child will be encouraged to work indivausally as well with groups. The teacher will help child assist their homework. The children will have the right tools and age appropriate activities for them as well engaging in fun learning ways.

Staff

All staff members are experienced and eager to assist you and your child in any way possible to accommodate your child’s well-being. Our staff members are First Aid, Cpr certified, our negative tb tested, has food handlered card, Arizona fingerprint clearance card and background checked. Our teachers participate in ongoing development training throughout the year.

Parent Responsibility

  • Sign-in and out daily

  • Ensure you update child’s emergency contact information upon change

  • Ensure your child is not ill while taking to school

  • Notify us of expected absences or infectious/contagious disease

  • Bring enough diapers/pullups and wipes in order to maintain your child clean 

  • Potty training is encouraged and commendatory staff will help train your child if you are doing the same at home.

  • ANY child entering 3-year-old class must be completely potty trained without pull-ups

  • Please do not allow your child bring any personal/valuable items not required for their daily schedule. Again, we are not responsible for any loss or damage items.

Provisions for children with special needs 

Children with special needs will be evaluated individually to determine whether Sunshine ABC Preschool can adequately meet their needs. Any child with a diagnosed special need will have an IFSP or IEP on file at Sunshine ABC Preschool.


Diapering policy 

Every parent needs to supply their child with sufficient diapers and wipes for a week. Every diaper and wipes must be labeled with their child first and last name by the parent. If your child has a diaper rash and you would like the teacher to apply diaper rash ointment, you must: Label the ointment with your child name. Be for the age of your child (usually noted on the instructions. Fill out an ointment permission form. Children over three year of age must not wear diapers. They must be toilet trained.


Toileting Policy

Once your child shows signs that he/she is ready to be potty trained, the teacher will provide support to the parent if the parent is constantly working at home with the child as well (consistency and positive reinforcement is key). Parents must send enough extra clothes (labeled) in case their clothing gets soiled. Children must be toilet trained prior to their 3rd birthday to enter the preschool classroom; unless there are medical or developmental reasons that a Doctor or other licensed professional can attest to with a letter head documentation. Note: If your child is not toilet trained (no pull ups) by the age of 3, he/she will need to withdraw from Sunshine ABC Preschool until he/she is potty trained and ready to enter their Preschool classroom. If you would like their spot to be saved, you must pay your weekly tuition until your child returns. 

Procedures for complaints and Discrimination

Additionally, program information may be made available in languages other than English. To file a program complaint of discrimination, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, (AD-3027) found online at: http://www.ascr.usda.gov/complaint_filing_cust.html, and at any USDA office, or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form. Fieldtrips

Fieldtrips are scheduled per classroom. Parents need to sign a fieldtrip permission form in order for their child to participate. Nature walks are always recommended if the weather permits.. Ratios will be satisfactory, first aid kit will be available as well as emergency cards, the directors cell phone number will be left in the center’s office.

Pesticide Application procedures

Written pesticide information is available to a parent, upon a parent request, at least 48 hours before a pesticide application occurs on facility premises. 

Parents access to premises

 Once a child is checked into the facility, they will enter a secured play area. The child will not be permitted to leave until the authorized parent/guardian returns. No unauthorized person will be allowed in the secured play area.
